On July 4th, YOGOODY was present at Praia da Física in Santa Cruz to take part in one of Portugal’s most unique surf competitions: the PRIO Softboard Heroes. More than just a sporting event, this initiative brings together professional athletes, artists, and the local community with a shared purpose: supporting social causes and promoting sustainability.

Now in its 5th edition, PRIO Softboard Heroes once again combined the thrill of surf with a strong spirit of charity. Sixteen surfers, including professionals, juniors, women, and well-known personalities, competed in teams, each representing a different charitable institution. With €20,000 in donations at stake, every wave ridden meant a chance to make a difference. The beneficiary institutions this year were:

Each team’s performance directly translated into support for their chosen cause, proving that sport can be a powerful tool for inclusion and solidarity.

But the event was about more than surfing. This edition also inaugurated the PRIO Softboard Heroes Art Room, a gallery showcasing works from Portuguese artists inspired by the ocean and sustainability. The pieces, available for sale, added a cultural and environmental dimension to the initiative, with part of the proceeds benefiting the same charities.

Sustainability was at the heart of the event. From reusing and upcycling materials in the event’s production to promoting softboards as a fun and eco-friendly surf option, every detail reinforced the message that caring for people goes hand in hand with caring for the planet.

YOGOODY was proud to be part of this edition of PRIO Softboard Heroes, sharing our probiotic shakes with athletes, guests, and visitors. While our products added energy to such a special day, what truly mattered was being part of a collective movement that celebrated community, inclusion, and the true spirit of surf: teamwork, joy, and respect for nature.
