What is the difference between Probiotics and Prebiotics?

What are Probiotics and Prebiotics?

Prebiotics are non-digestible food ingredients that promote the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut. They act as a "fertilizer" to the the good bacteria (probiotics).

Probiotics are live microorganisms, such as bacteria and yeast, that are similar to the beneficial microorganisms found in the human gut and are consumed in order to improve health. They promote a healthy digestive track and immune system.

In other words, prebiotics provide food for probiotics, which then help maintain a healthy gut microbiome.

Yogoody has both prebiotics - oat fibres - and probiotics - yogurt cultures. Perfect as on an on the go shake or snack.
